Various Policy Positions: Volume 4

Leading NY Forward With Competence, Compassion, & Common Sense

As governor, I will champion the working class because I believe in the power of unions and collective bargaining. Unions are essential for protecting workers, providing higher wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces. In New York, the working class is not only the backbone of our economy but also increasingly diverse. By empowering labor unions, we can enhance economic security for all families and promote racial economic justice.

Union membership leads to lifelong benefits, especially for women and Black workers, creating a united force that can tackle income inequality and discrimination. When workers are satisfied and productive, we all thrive. I will prioritize creating a better work-life balance, ensuring that every New Yorker has the opportunity for a prosperous future.

As Governor of New York, my commitment is to protect the working class. We must end the squatter law loophole that allows vandals to turn innocent homeowners' dream homes into nightmares. Imagine returning from vacation only to find a stranger lounging in your living room, or like the family in Rochester who bought their dream home, only to be blocked by a squatter. This is unacceptable. The eviction process is too slow, leaving homeowners drowning in legal fees and stress, while squatters face no consequences.

Under my plan, once a proper eviction notice is issued, squatters will have a maximum of 30 days to leave. If they don’t, law enforcement will remove them and they will face charges for criminal trespass and a permanent restraining order. They will also be held accountable for any property damage they cause. No more red tape!

Together, WE can defeat the oligarchs!
